President of Wings of Hope David Weeks has become a charter member of the newly formed Rotary Club of Central Africa in January 2025. This is a virtual club focused on providing support to humanitarian projects in Africa. He will be working with Francois Ngijoi, chair of the projects committee to evaluate proposed African projects being considered for Rotary International funding. Rotary International provides 1.4 billion USD annual support to address global humanitarian needs.
On Friday, January 24, David introduced the humanitarian work of the Wings of Hope Global Cooperative to the members of Columbia Patuxent Rotary, the largest Rotary Club in Maryland. Knowing that the Rotary is particularly interested in water and sanitation, he focused his remarks on the vision he and Wings of Hope Board Member N’Mah Keita have of installing four village wells in Guinea. Each of these wells with their housing for a water distribution center is estimated to cost $9000.00. Wings of Hope already has in excess of $4000.00 to be targeted for the first well installation in Mangata, Guinea and hopes that the Columbia Patuxent Rotary Club in Maryland will provide the needed financial support to complete this project.
