While David Weeks continues to seek equipment and funds for the development of the Wings of Hope vision office for diagnostic and operative procedures, planned in the Osiligi Medical Complex for the Maasai in Kenya, he has begun work on a campus plan for the Osiligi Maternity Hospital. Presently he is collaborating with the design team of Build Health International Inc. in the development of this plan, which will feature walkways, access roads, parking as well as projections for staff housing and hospital expansion. A couple possible options will be presented in June 2026 to the Maasai committee overseeing the development of the future medical center. Build Health International has already worked with David on the hospital floor plans and the virtual tour of the Hospital’s interior. See the Kenyan component of the Wings of Hope website at www.supportwingsofhope.org.
Space is still open for travelers interested in the Wings of Hope Maasai & Safari Adventure in Kenya taking place from June 16-30. This special trip will provide a small group of participants with more than an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of Africa. They will meet Maasai community leaders, enjoy family hospitality, collaborate with healthcare workers, and contribute their talents to making positive change for the common good. Sharing cultural norms in meaningful relationships while learning about an indigenous African culture makes this a unique and most memorable experience.
