The Osiligi Medical Dispensary health care quality for the Maasai in Kenya continues to advance with in-kind donations. Dr. Moritz Dehler has supported a Wings of Hope’s medical educational scholarship for an aspiring Maasai physician and has recently donated twenty metal speculums for gynecological exams. Retired from his medical practice he recognized that his speculums could be of great value to the Osiligi Medical Dispensary. Wings of Hope President David Weeks is most grateful for this contribution of OBGYN medical instruments. He is encouraging other retired physicians with useable medical equipment to correspond with him at [email protected] to discuss the transfer of items.
Last year at this time, a dentist office was established and has become operational with donated dental instruments. Wings of Hope will establish a vision office and a pharmaceutical lab in the same building as the dentist office and is hoping to attract the support of in-kind needed items from ophthalmologists and pharmacists. See the Kenya section of www.supportwingsofhope.org for specific requests for vision equipment.
Finally, Wings of Hope will be offering the second annual Maasai & Safari Adventure in Kenya. This trip will have participants collaborating with the Narok Health Department personnel in a two day health fair for the Maasai community. Additionally, this trip will feature visits to Maasai homes to experience Maasai hospitality. The beauty of Africa will also be enjoyed with two planned safaris. Thanks to a contribution to the operational expense for this trip, the cost has been reduced from $2,775.00 to $1995.00. It will be limited to 5 people. Contact David Weeks at [email protected] if interested in donating items or participating in the Maasai & Safari Adventure in Kenya from June 16-30, 2026.
