Kenya has approximately 12% of its territory forested and unfortunately much of its forests have been cut to use for charcoal heating and to clear land for agricultural or urbanization. Traditional Maasai medicine depends on the existence of certain trees and shrubs and the Wings of Hope is acknowledging the value of these trees and shrubs and helping the Maasai with planting and educating visitors to the medicinal benefits found in the their forested regions of Kenya.
