Thanks to donations received, Wings of Hope has now further advanced the quality of health care delivered at its medical dispensary for Maasai maternal care in the Narok region of Kenya. Sanitation of this facility has improved with newly installed tile and vinyl flooring. Electrical energy has become more reliable with a solar powered back-up system that has recently been added. Furthermore, the interior of this health care facility is more sanitized with a fresh coat of paint. All these improvements have resulted from Wings of Hope’s commitment to collaborate with local health practitioners to prioritize health care needs. Funds are now needed to support a small cottage on site to provide 24/7 maternal health care from the primary care physician. To donate, visit the Wings of Hope website at www.supportwingsofhope.org.
In addition to serving the Maasai in Kenya, Wings of Hope will support urgent needs in Myanmar this month. On October 25, the Myanmar Cultural Celebration Fundraiser is planned at the Glenelg Country School’s Mulitz Theater in Ellicott City, Maryland. It will feature Burmese performances, an authentic Asian dinner and a presentation on the challenges facing the Burmese people. Wings of Hope will use this fundraiser to purchase prosthetics for amputees and provide health care supplies to internally displaced people in Myanmar. See the link below to the flier with donation and location details. A modest contribution can go a long way towards supporting the health and mobility of the Burmese. Please be generous and contribute to this event.
